Alex Bowman earned a career-best third-place finish, while Kevin Harvick finished fourth and Erik Jones – another JGR driver – claimed fifth.

He led Vettel – the only other driver to lead the race – by 17.123 seconds, with Raikkonen scoring his fifth consecutive podium.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Wins by Drivers Over Age 40 (July 23, 2018)

Kevin Harvick scored his sixth Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory in Sunday’s Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire.

Harvick’s six wins – his single season career-high, with 16 races remaining this year – are the most in a season for a driver over the age of 40 since Matt Kenseth won a series-high seven races in 2013. All seven of Kenseth’s wins came at the age of 41, with the first win of that year coming on his 41st birthday, March 10, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Harvick is 42 years old.

Lewis Hamilton won from the 14th starting position to take his fourth German Grand Prix win, 66th of his career and fourth of the 2018 season. Most importantly, Hamilton vaulted into the points lead for the first time since dropping to second after failing to finish the Austrian Grand Prix. Hamilton took command after polesitter and early leader Sebastian Vettel crashed while leading, and Vettel’s teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, pitted from the lead.

Hamilton’s teammate Valtteri Bottas finished second, giving Mercedes its first 1-2 finish in its home grand prix. Bottas’s fellow Finnish countryman, Raikkonen, was second.

He leads by 31 points with a final race to go, but only 29 points are up for grabs in Race 2.

Saturday’s race marked the ninth race of the 2018 calendar year (first two rounds in Hong Kong were held at the end of 2017).

Christopher Bell came from the back to the front, leading the final 17 laps to record his second Xfinity Series victory of the season. Bell, who spun in qualifying, was forced to start at the back (officially, he started 12th, but dropped to the back at the start), but quickly worked his way through the field and was a frontrunner for much of the event. He led Daniel Hemric by almost a second at the checkered flag, with Kyle Busch, Justin Allgaier and polesitter Cole Custer – all of whom led the event for at least 14 laps – rounding out the top five. Bell took over the points lead with two wins and 12 playoff points.

He passed Truex, who had led on the previous six laps. Fourth was Kasey Kahne, and fifth was Chris Buescher.

Officially, Larson – who also won each of the two stages – finished 0.005 seconds ahead of Elliott Sadler, in a race that was extended by five laps after a multi-car crash late. Justin Haley, making his series debut at Daytona, crossed the finish line first, but his Chevrolet dipped under the yellow line, and he was scored 18th. Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney and Kaz Grala rounded out the top five.

For Kyle Busch, it marked his series-high fifth victory of the season, tying him with Kevin Harvick, who finished third. Larson finished second. Two-time defending race winner – and last Sunday’s winner at Sonoma Raceway – Martin Truex Jr. was fourth, and Clint Bowyer was fifth.
