Scott Dixon took command of the race after early race leader and polesitter Josef Newgarden hit the wall in the final turn coming to a restart. Dixon never looked back for his 44th career IndyCar win and third victory of 2018, tying Newgarden for the most victories this season and increasing his points advantage with five races remaining. Simon Pagenaud finished second while Canadians and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports teammates Robert Wickens and James Hinchcliffe were third and fourth.
