Interestingly, the youngest drivers – Phil Hanson and Julien Andlauer – share a birthday (July 5, 1999), and are equally the youngest at 18 years, 347 days. The age with the most drivers is 36 years old (14 drivers entered), and the average age is around 33 years and 10.5 months.

Monaco Grand Prix and Indianapolis 500 Winners – Same Country, Same Year (May 28, 2018)
It is a good time to be an Australian racing fan.
The Land Down Under is the homeland for two drivers who won two of the world’s biggest races Sunday – Daniel Ricciardo dominating the Monaco Grand Prix, and Will Power taking command late in the Indianapolis 500. Both drivers were first-time winners in their respective races.
Interestingly enough, this is only the fifth time winners of both races were from the same country in the same year, and the only time its happened on the same day. Australia became the third country to claim both wins in the same year, with only Brazil and the United Kingdom having produced winners of both races prior to 2018.

Kyle Busch dominated the race, leading 377 of the 400 laps for his fourth victory of the season and the first Coca Cola 600 win of his career. Busch – who has now won a points-paying Cup Series race at every track he’s contested – defeated Martin Truex Jr. by 3.823 seconds. Third was Denny Hamlin, followed by Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson.

They are two very different disciplines, but there have been many instances where rally and endurance racing has seen crossover. Several World Rally Championship drivers have ventured to the world’s most prestigious endurance race to test their skills, and five WRC driving champions have competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Three of those five have earned podiums in their class.

Event statistics following the sixth race of the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season, the 102nd Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana.
Will Power took command on Lap 196 from Stefan Wilson – who along with two others were forced to stop for fuel – and led the final five laps of the race to secure his first Indianapolis 500 win. Power led four times for 59 laps to win by 3.1589 seconds over polesitter Ed Carpenter. It marked an incredible month for Power, who became the first driver to win both the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis 500 – both in the same season and all together.
Additionally, with his two wins at Indianapolis, Power has jumped from 10th to first in the points in two races (was 10th after crashing in last month’s race at Barber Motorsports Park).
Scott Dixon, the 2008 Indy 500 winner, battled to third, followed by Andretti Autosport teammates and former winners Alexander Rossi (2016) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (2014).
