The 11th race of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season is this weekend at Dover International Speedway. Here’s a quick look at some interesting statistics and numbers heading into the Cup Series race.

Statistics – Dover International Speedway
- This weekend’s race marks the 97th for the series in the state of Delaware, with all previous races being held at Dover International Speedway. Richard Petty won the first race, in July 1969.
- The winner of the most Cup Series races at Dover International Speedway is Jimmie Johnson, who has 11 career victories at the track. Richard Petty and Bobby Allison are tied for second with seven wins each.
- Overall, a total of 35 drivers have won a Cup Series race at Dover. Kevin Harvick became the 35th driver when he won the 2015 fall race.
- Nine drivers have won at least one race at Dover International Speedway and gone on to win the series championship in the same season: Richard Petty (1971, 1974, 1975, 1979); Cale Yarborough (1976, 1977); Darrell Waltrip (1982); Bobby Allison (1983 both); Bill Elliott (1988 both); Dale Earnhardt (1993); Jeff Gordon (1995, 2001); Jimmie Johnson (2009, 2010, 2013); and Brad Keselowski (2012).

- Jimmie Johnson is the last driver to win back-to-back spring races at Dover, when he won the 2014 and 2015 races. Johnson has won four of the last six spring races, and he is the defending Dover spring race winner.
- The record for most lead changes in a race at Dover is 29, in the 1980 fall and 1986 spring races.
- The record for fewest lead changes in a race at Dover was three, in the 1971 fall race, in which Richard Petty, Charlie Glotzbach and Bobby Allison led. Allison led a race-high 394 laps.
- Three races have gone into overtime – 2005 fall and 2015 and 2017 spring.
- Chevrolet has won a record 39 races at Dover, including six straight from the 2013 spring to 2015 fall races. Ford is second with 25 victories.
- Brad Keselowski holds the record for fastest pole speed, when he set the fastest speed at 164.444 mph for the 2014 spring race.
- Mark Martin holds the race record for average speed, winning the 1997 fall race at 132.719 mph in an event that saw only one caution for 11 laps. Four other races have also averaged more than 130 mph.
- Thirteen races at Dover have been won from the pole position, and 30 races have been won from the front row.
