The 86th annual 24 Hours of Le Mans is 42 days away! This is the 45th day of the 86 Stats in 86 Days Until the 86th 24 Hours of Le Mans blog.
Each day from now until the Friday before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we’ll post a list of stats related to the race. Some are well-known statistics, while others are a little more in-depth.
The first 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1923 was not held in June, but in May. The race has also been held in September, when civil unrest postponed the 1968 race from the summer to the fall. Another race, in 1956, was delayed due to reconstruction of the track, following the tragedy of the 1955 race.
- June: 82 races
- May: 1 race (1923)
- July: 1 race (1956)
- September: 1 race (1968)
