Notes of Interest – Race Recap (DIRTcar Nationals, Night 2)

- This was Donny Schatz’s first World of Outlaws A-Main victory of the season and 250th A-Main win of his career. He joins Steve Kinser (577) and Sammy Swindell (294) to hit the elusive 250-mark.

- This marked Schatz’s 12th victory at Volusia Speedway Park and fifth consecutive season in which he’s won at least one race at the Florida track. He has won at least one race at Volusia in nine of the last 12 seasons, dating back to 2007.

- This marked the 21st consecutive season in which Schatz has won at least one A-Main race.

- Schatz is the only driver this season with two finishes in the top five.

- For the second night in a row, the race winner only led the final two laps, while the second-place finisher led the opening 28 laps.

- Jason Johnson won the dash and finished second after leading the first 28 laps. His second-place finish was the best this season.

- Shane Stewart won a heat race for the second consecutive night and is the only driver to win heat races in each of the first two races. He also set fast qualifying time of the night.

- Four drivers competed in their first A-Main feature of the season: Chad Kemenah (8th), Joey Saldana (11th), Trey Starks (21st) and Clyde Knipp (25th).

- Four drivers missed their first A-Main feature of the season: Rico Abreu, Cale Conley, Ian Madsen and Jacob Allen.
