Notes of Interest – Race Recap (Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Race 2)
- This is Alex Baron’s first USF2000 victory of the season and third in his career. Baron had two victories during the 2013 USF2000 season.
- Overall, this is Baron’s fourth victory in the Mazda Road to Indy system. He also won an Indy Lights race in 2014.
- Baron – who finished 22nd in Race 1 after contact early – led all 25 laps in Race 2, becoming the second driver in as many races to lead every lap of a race.
- Baron is the first driver to win a race from the pole position. Kyle Kirkwood won the season-opening race from second on the grid.
- Igor Fraga finished second, his career best in two races. He finished eighth in Race 1.
- Lucas Kohl rounded out the podium with his fourth career top-five finish in USF2000 competition in his 32nd career race.
- Fraga and Kohl gave Brazil two spots on the podium.
- Jamie Caroline was fourth, his first career top-five finish in USF2000.
- Kyle Kirkwood was fifth, the only driver to finish in the top five in both races at St. Petersburg. Kirkwood was the top finishing driver from the United States.
- In the field, 16 of the 25 drivers were rookies.
- Jayson Clunie, who was 20th, was the last driver to finish on the lead lap.
