Here is a look at the 10 youngest ages by drivers to win the
Indianapolis 500. Troy Ruttman became the youngest winner in the 1952 race,
taking the lead with nine laps remaining to score the victory at 22 years, 80 days. He became the
17th driver, at that time, to win the race in their 20s.

Notes of Interest
- Helio Castroneves is the only driver to win multiple Indianapolis

earn the victory in his 20s. Before that was Scott Dixon (2008, age 27).
Drivers in their 30s won the race every year between 2009 and 2015.
