Notes of Interest
- Emerson Fittipaldi is the only driver to multiple and all of his Indianapolis 500 victories in his 40s. Bobby Unser and Mauri Rose scored two of their three Indianapolis 500 wins in their 40s, both at the age of 41, while Lee Wallard and Eddie Cheever won their only Indianapolis 500 races at the age of 40.
