Event statistics following Saturday’s (February 3) Santiago ePrix at
the 1.53-mile (2.47-kilometer) temporary Santiago Street Circuit in Santiago,
Chile. It marked the fourth round of the 12-round 2017-2018 season and second
race of the 2018 calendar year (first two rounds in Hong Kong were held at the
end of 2017).
Jean-Eric Vergne won the race. He was followed by teammate
Andre Lotterer and the series’ leader in victories, Sebastien Buemi.

Notes of Interest
- This was the second career victory for Jean-Eric Vergne. His
first Formula E victory came last season in the second race in downtown
Montreal (Montreal ePrix Race Two). Vergne is the eighth driver in Formula E
history to score at least two victories.
- Vergne won the pole position for the race, his second of
the season and sixth of his career.
- Vergne moved from third to first in the points standings,
while Felix Rosenqvist dropped from the lead to second. It marks the first time
in his career Vergne has led the Formula 3 points standings. The highest Vergne
had been in the points standings before this was second, after the
season-opening race.
- The victory for Techeetah was the team’s second in
history. Both victories have come with Vergne behind the wheel. Techeetah
earned its first ever 1-2, with Andre Lotterer finishing a career-best second.
It was also Lotterer’s first career Formula E podium.
- Sebastien Buemi scored his record-extending 19th career
podium finish.
- The top nine finishers represented nine different
countries. France was the only country represented with two drivers in the top
10 (Vergne, 1st; Nicolas Prost, 10th).
- The race was the first Formula E ePrix to be held in the
country of Chile and sixth race in South America. A total of 15 countries or
special administrative regions have now hosted at least one round in Formula E competition.
- A total of 19 drivers have scored points this season. Andre
Lotterer (18) and Jerome D’Ambrosio (4) each earned points for the first time
this season.
