Bathurst 12 at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, Australia. The race marked
the opening round of the four-race 2018 Intercontinental GT Challenge series.
Robin Frijn (Netherlands), Stuart Leonard (United Kingdom)
and Dries Vanthoor took the overall victory in an Audi R8 LMS for Team WRT
(Belgium). The race was shortened to 11 hours, 38 minutes and 4.133 seconds due
to an accident.

Notes of Interest
- This was the 17th running of the Bathurst 12. Sixteen
races have been held at Bathurst and one at Eastern Creek Raceway.
- This was the first overall victory by the three overall
winners – Robin Frijns, Stuart Leonard and Dries Vanthoor. Frijns’s win was the
first for The Netherlands, Leonard’s the first for the United Kingdom, and
Vanthoor’s the first for Belgium since 2015 (Wolfgang Reip) and second
all-time.
- With Frijns, Leonard and Vanthoor sharing the victory, a
total of 40 drivers have been crowned overall winners of the Bathurst 12 since
1991.
- This is the first race since 2015 that an Australian
driver was not part of the winning team of drivers overall. Overall, Australian
drivers have laid claim to 30 victories.
- The race’s 271 laps completed was the fewest since 2013
(268 laps).
- This marked Audi’s third overall victory in the Bathurst
12, following victories in 2011 and 2012. Mazda remains the all-time leader
with four victories.
- Audi added a class victory in the AAM class, the only
manufacturer with multiple victories in the race.
- Porsche has earned a class victory every year since 2011
(seven consecutive races).
