Another Donny Schatz victory in the World of Outlaws, and
another incredible milestone.
Schatz scored his 250th A-Main Feature victory Saturday at Volusia
Speedway Park by leading the final two laps in his No. 15 Ford owned by Tony Stewart. It marked his
first victory of the 2018 season, and in doing so, he became the third driver
ever to match the 250-win total (that does not include full-point shows). Steve Kinser has 577 wins, while Sammy
Swindell has 294.
Schatz started his journey in 1998 with a single victory, at Cottage Grove Speedway in Oregon. It would become the first of four victories at the track and set forth a journey in which Schatz would become an icon in not just the winged sprint car world, and not just sprint car racing in general, but in all of American motorsports.
It’s crazy to think, but Schatz has scored averaged a
victory in almost exactly one of every five A-Main Feature races he’s started
(he’s close to 1,250 races run). The victories have come from coast-to-coast
and in three countries – the United States, Canada and Australia.
So what exactly is the breakdown? Take a closer look at the
