-       Helio Castroneves completed the 1,000-mile mark at 8 hours, 18 minutes. Unofficially, that’s over 120.5 miles per hour, almost five miles per hour faster than the all-time record of 114.794 set in 1982.

-       The distance between overall leader Filipe Albuquerque and second-place Ricky Taylor (#7 Acura) at the end of the ninth hour was 29.395 seconds. Felipe Nasr (#31 Cadillac) was third.

-       The temperature was 66 degrees Fahrenheit (18.9 degrees Celsius) at the end of the ninth hour.

-       There were four cars on the lead lap overall at the end of the ninth hour.

-       There were one full-course caution in the first nine hours.

-       There was smoke coming from Renger van der Zande’s car (#10 Cadillac DPi) at about the eight-hour, 40-minute mark after issues on the backstretch. A shredded tire caused damage to the bodywork and other parts of the car. The car went back to the garage.

-       The #90 Cadillac experienced problems midway through the ninth hour and made it to the garage.

-       Ricky Taylor (#7 Acura DPi) set his car’s fastest lap late in the ninth hour, with a lap of 1:37.758, about a tenth of a second off the leader’s fastest lap.
