The latest edition of the all-encompassing Motor Racing Statistics “By The Numbers” blog, which looks at numbers throughout many forms of motorsports. This blog runs on Tuesdays through the year.

1.99 – Length, in miles, of Sonoma Raceway, the first of two road courses this season to host the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

2 – Justin Allgaier became the second driver this season to win at least two NASCAR Xfinity Series races, winning Sunday’s Iowa 250 Presented by Enogen at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. Allgaier led 182 of the 250 laps, to join Brad Keselowski as the only other driver with multiple wins in 2018.

4.014 – Length, in miles, of Road America, the longest track on the Verizon IndyCar Series schedule. Road America is located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

5 – Jeff Gordon holds the record for most Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victories at Sonoma Raceway, with five.

8 – Michael Schumacher holds the record for most victories in the French Grand Prix, with eight (1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006).

11 – This weekend’s French Grand Prix at Circuit Paul Richard marks the first time the race has been part of the Formula 1 World Championship calendar in 11 years.

11 – Donny Schatz scored his 11th World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series A-Main feature this season Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

15 – Fifteen-year-old Chandler Smith scored his first career ARCA Racing Series victory in Friday’s Herr’s Potato Chips 200 at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wisconsin, to become the seventh driver to win a race this season.

16 – Brett Moffitt won Saturday’s M&M’s 200 at Iowa Speedway from the 16th starting position, the lowest starting position for a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winner this season and worst since Christopher Bell won the spring race at Texas Motor Speedway in June 2017, from 21st.

28 – This weekend’s KOHLER Grand Prix will be the 28th IndyCar race at Road America.

28 – The last Formula 1 World Championship race at Circuit Paul Ricard was 28 years ago, in 1990. Frenchman Alain Prost won the race, his then-record fifth victory in the French Grand Prix.

30 – This weekend’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway in California will be the 30th Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at the 1.99-mile track.

37 – Each of the last five IndyCar Series races have been won by a 37-year-old driver. Will Power and Scott Dixon have each won twice, while Ryan Hunter-Reay added a victory. One of the three hopes to be back in victory lane in Sunday’s KOHLER Grand Prix at Road America.

55 – This weekend’s KOHLER Grand Prix, the 10th race on the 2018 IndyCar Series circuit, is scheduled for 55 laps.

59 – Ron Capps scored the 59th NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Funny car victory of his career in Sunday’s Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway, defeating Bob Tasca III in the final round. It marked Capps’s first victory of the season, and the 114th final of his career.

84 – Tony Schumacher added his 84th NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Top Fuel victory of his career and first of the season by defeating Mike Salinas in the final round of Sunday’s Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway. Schumacher’s final round pass of 3.946 seconds came at 313.58 mph; his win gave Don Schumacher Racing a sweep of the nitro classes.

100  Kevin Thomas Jr. scored the 100th career points-paying USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Series victory for the Hoffman Auto Racing (Dynamics Inc.) team Monday at Bridgeport Speedway in New Jersey.

133 – With their 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, Fernando Alonso, Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi added their names to the overall win list, which now stands at 133.

179 – A total of 179 of the 180 drivers entered for the last weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans competed in the race. The only driver that did not compete during the race was Oliver Webb, as the No. 4 ENSO CLM P1/01 Nismo VRX30A 3.0L Turbo V6 crashed after completing 65 laps.
