The latest edition of the all-encompassing Motor Racing Statistics “By The Numbers” blog, which looks at numbers throughout many forms of motorsports. This blog runs on Tuesdays through the year.

2 – Noah Gragson won his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race Friday at Kansas Speedway, leading 128 of 167 laps.

3 – Will Power earned his third victory in five Grand Prix of Indianapolis races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. He led 56 of the event’s 85 laps.

4 – Will Power’s victory in Saturday’s Grand Prix of Indianapolis at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course gave the Verizon IndyCar Series four winners in five races in 2018.

5 – Markku Alen and Sebastien Ogier own an event-high five victories each in the Rally de Portugal, which is the next stop of the 2018 World Rally Championship schedule this weekend. Alen triumphed in 1975, 1977, 1978, 1981 and 1987, while Ogier won in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017.

6 – Rick Mears owns an Indianapolis 500 record six pole positions. Helio Castroneves is tied for second all-time with Rex Mays and A.J. Foyt with four poles (2003, 2007, 2009 and 2010) and hopes to take sole possession of second with a fifth pole.

6 – Chris Windom claimed the second night of the #LetsTakeTwo event Saturday at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, in the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Series, to become the sixth driver this season to claim a feature victory. He joined Chase Stockon, Tyler Courtney, Dave Darland, Kevin Thomas Jr. and Brady Bacon, the fifth winner of the season Friday.

8 – Donny Schatz recorded his series-leading eighth World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series A-Main victory Saturday at Eldora Speedway, sweeping the #LetsRaceTwo races at the track (he won his seventh A-Main on Friday).

17 – Team Penske has 17 Indianapolis 500 pole positions, most recently with Ryan Briscoe in 2012. Next is Chip Ganassi Racing’s five, including Scott Dixon’s pole in 2017.

23 – Twenty-three drivers have won the Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Kyle Busch is the defending champion of the race, which is scheduled for Saturday night.

35 – Thirty-five cars are entered for the 102nd Indianapolis 500, and the 35 drivers piloting the cars are vying for 33 positions during qualifying set for this Saturday and Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

41 – Lewis Hamilton earned his 41st career victory from the pole position and 64th overall in a dominating victory in the Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya outside Barcelona. That broke a record previous set by Michael Schumacher.

42 – Kevin Harvick claimed his 42nd career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory Saturday at Kansas Speedway.

52 – This weekend’s Rally de Portugal is the 52nd edition of the event. The first Rally de Portugal was in 1967, won by Portuguese pilot Carpinteiro Albino.

200 – Team Penske earned its 200th IndyCar victory Saturday when Will Power won the Grand Prix of Indianapolis at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

236.986 – Arie Luyendyk’s four-lap average of 236.986 mph, set in 1996, was the fastest qualifying average in the history of the Indianapolis 500. It won’t be touched this weekend.

820 – Kevin Harvick has led 820 laps during the first 12 races of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season. That’s 30 laps less than he led during the entire 36-race 2017 season (led 850 laps).
