Event statistics following the 14th race of the 2018 Supercars Championship season, Race #2 of the Winton SuperSprint at Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria.

For the second consecutive race, a first-time race winner this season emerged. Fabian Coulthard scored his first victory of 2018, leading 59 of the 67 laps to defeat Shane van Gisbergen by a whopping 11.028 seconds. Teammate and points leader Scott McLaughlin was third.

Notes of Interest – Race/Weekend Recap
- This is Fabian Coulthard’s first Supercars Championship victory of the season and 10th of his career. Coulthard has now won races in five different Supercars seasons (2013-2015, 2017-2018).
- Coulthard is the eighth different driver this season to win a Supercars Championship race. He joins five-time race winner Scott McLaughlin, two-time race winners Shane van Gisbergen and Jamie Whincup and single-race winners Scott Pye, David Reynolds, Craig Lowndes and Rick Kelly.
- This is Coulthard’s second victory at Winton Motor Raceway; he won Race #1 of the Winton 400 in 2017. Winton is the second track at which Coulthard has multiple Supercars wins; he has three victories at Symmons Plains Raceway.
- Coulthard’s victory came from the second starting position. Four of Coulthard’s 10 victories have come from the second starting position, five from the front row, and all 10 from the sixth or better on the grid.
- Coulthard’s win marks the third race this season won from the second starting position. Thirteen of the 14 races this season have been won from the front two rows.
- Coulthard now has three podiums this season and 45 in his career. It marks Coulthard’s first podium since back-to-back third-place finishes in Races 1 and 2 of the Melbourne 400 in March.
- Coulthard earned his fourth top-10 finish in five races, and eighth in 14 races this season.
- Coulthard’s margin of victory was 11.028 seconds, the largest margin of victory this season.

- This is Coulthard’s fifth victory with DJR Team Penske. Coulthard’s other five Supercars wins came with team owner Brad Jones.
- Coulthard has now completed 19,997 laps, three laps short of 20,000. Coulthard will become the eighth driver of those competing this season to complete at least 20,000 laps. James Courtney also reached the 20,000 laps completed mark earlier this season.
- Shane van Gisbergen was second, earning his sixth podium of 2018 (including second at Winton) and 11th top 10 in 14 races this season. Van Gisbergen was the highest-finishing Holden driver; he owns the second-best average finish among 26 drivers at 6.36.
- Van Gisbergen now has 84 career podiums.
- Points leader Scott McLaughlin earned his series-leading ninth podium, 10th top five and 13th top 10 of the season. It also ensured the third race this season that DJR Team Penske earned two podium spots in the same race.
- McLaughlin earned a season-best seventh pole position, including fifth in the last six races. McLaughlin was also the polesitter for Race 1 of the Winton SuperSprint; he’s earned the pole five times at Winton, including each of the last four race. McLaughlin’s first career pole came at Winton in 2014.
- McLaughlin improved his average finish to a series-best 4.36.
- McLaughlin set the race’s fastest lap, his third race with a fast lap this season. That ties him for the most in 2018 with Jamie Whincup and James Courtney.
- McLaughlin reached the 10,000 laps completed mark in his career during the race.
- Race 1 winner Rick Kelly was fourth, his fourth top five and fifth top 10 in the last six races. Kelly was the highest-finishing Nissan driver.
- Kelly’s teammate, Michael Caruso, matched his season-best finish with a fifth-place effort.
- Scott Pye was sixth, earning his 10th top-10 finish of 2018.
- Tim Slade finished seventh for the second consecutive race to earn his eighth top 10 of 2018.
- Jamie Whincup finished eighth; Whincup has now gone six consecutive races without a top five after six top fives in the first eight races.
- Richie Stanaway earned his first top-10 finish of the season and fourth of his career by finishing ninth. Stanaway led one lap, becoming the 23rd driver to lead a lap this season. The only three drivers still seeking to lead their first lap of the season are Simona de Silvestro, Todd Hazelwood and Tim Blanchard.
- Chaz Mostert finished 10th, earning his 11th top-10 of the season. That ties him for second most with Shane van Gisbergen, and two behind series leader Scott McLaughlin.
- Andre Heimgartner was 11th, his second-best finish of 2018 (was eighth in Race 2 of Wanneroo).
- Craig Lowndes was 12th, advancing a race-high 11 positions after starting 23rd. It marked the season-best fourth time Lowndes has made up the most positions from start to finish in a race.
- Cameron Waters finished last, five laps down. It marked the second consecutive race Waters did not complete every lap of a race, after completing every lap in each of the first 12 races.
- Twenty-five of the 26 drivers completed every lap, with James Golding the final driver on the lead lap.
- This marks the eighth race this season which did not feature a full-course caution.
- A total of 11 drivers improved on their starting position in the race.
- The next event will be the Darwin Triple Crown, June 16-17, at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin.
