Notes of Interest – Race Recap (Grand Prix of Indianapolis)
- This is Will Power’s first victory of the 2018 IndyCar Series season and the 33rd IndyCar victory of his career (31 in IndyCar Series, 2 in Champ Car World Series).
- Three of Power’s 33 victories have come on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, all in the last four races (only two drivers have won the five races).
- Power is the fourth driver this season with a victory in five races. He joins Josef Newgarden (two wins), 
- Power’s victory marks the first time this season a driver did not earn the points lead after winning the race.
- Power has now won at least one IndyCar race in each of the last 12 seasons, dating back to the 2007 Champ Car World Series season, and all 11 seasons on the IndyCar Series circuit.
- This is Power’s 30th victory with Team Penske. He breaks a tie for second all-time in IndyCar victories with Team Penske (Rick Mears had 29) and is now tied with Helio Castroneves for the most all-time.
