The latest edition of the all-encompassing Motor Racing Statistics “By The Numbers” blog, which looks at numbers throughout many forms of motorsports. This blog runs on Tuesdays through the year.

3 – This weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be the third Formula 1 World Championship race on the circuit. The 2016 race was the European Grand Prix, and the 2017 race was the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

3 – Kyle Busch has won the last three Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races, and goes for his fourth in this weekend’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. Busch and Kevin Harvick have both won three consecutive series races this season.

3 – Patricio O’Ward has won three of the four Indy Lights races this season, including both of this weekend’s races at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

3.713 – J.R. Todd holds the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Top Fuel track record at zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina, of 3.713 seconds. Todd is aiming to win his second consecutive Four-Wide Nationals event this weekend at the track and third straight race in the Funny Car class; he won the most recent Four-Wide race at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway earlier this month and last weekend’s NHRA SpringNationals at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.

3.91 – Donny Schatz holds a 3.91 average finish through 11 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series races, with three wins, eight top fives and 10 top 10s.

5.1 – Scott McLaughlin has an average finish of 5.1 through 10 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship races, following two victories in last weekend’s races at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

8 – A total of eight drivers have won in the first eight NASCAR Xfinity Series races this season: Tyler Reddick, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Ryan Preece and Christopher Bell. The last time eight different drivers won in the first eight races of a season was in 1998.

8 – Sebastien Loeb holds the record for most victories in Rally Argentina, eight. The Rally Argentina marks the fifth round of the 2018 World Rally Championship.

10 – Rain and inclement weather have pushed the total number of postponements and cancellations to 10 for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. That includes the race at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, twice this month.

10 – Dale Earnhardt earned a record 10 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victories at Talladega Superspeedway.

17 – Seventeen-year-old Christian Eckes scored his first career ARCA Racing Series victory Sunday at Salem Speedway in Indiana.

27 – This weekend’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway will be the 27th time the series races at the 2.66-mile track.

29 – Lewis Hamilton is seeking his 29th consecutive Formula 1 points-paying finish in this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.

38 – This weekend’s Rally Argentina is the 38th in the event’s history. The event has been held since 1980, with the exception of 1982.

51 – The Azerbaijan Grand Prix for the Formula 1 World Championship consists of 51 laps.

73 – Josef Newgarden led 73 of the 82 laps in this Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, en route to his second Verizon IndyCar Series victory of the season.

74 – Daryn Pittman won his 73rd and 74th World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victories over the weekend, at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) and Federated Auto Parts Speedway (Pevely, Missouri).

97 – This weekend’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway will be the 98th at the track for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, dating back to September 1969, when Richard Brickhouse won his lone series victory at the track.

222 – John Force failed to qualify for Sunday’s NHRA SpringNationals at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, his streak of qualifying for 222 consecutive elimination rounds ending.

48,479 – Number of miles completed in Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series competition at Talladega Superspeedway. The series will hit 50,000 miles in one of next year’s races, depending on the actual completed distance of the next two races.
