Event Recap: 2018 ARCA Statistics from Nashville (April 8, 2018)

Event statistics following the second race of the 2018 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season, the Music City 200 on Saturday, April 7, at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Tennessee.

Zane Smith recorded his first career ARCA victory, besting Sheldon Creed by 1.365 seconds. Harrison Burton, Daytona winner Michael Self and Chandler Smith rounded out the top five, all of them driving a Toyota.

Notes of Interest – Race/Weekend Recap
- This was Zane Smith’s first ARCA victory of his career. The victory came in his 18th career race. It was also Smith’s first top-10 finish of 2018.
- Zane Smith has now led both races this season for a total of 144 laps. He only led 178 laps in 14 races in 2017.
- Toyotas have won each of the first two races. Michael Self also won the season opener at Daytona in a Toyota. Toyotas earned each of the top five positions.
- Smith becomes the first driver to win a race this season after leading the most laps in that race. Michael Self led only six laps in the race at Daytona.
- Sheldon Creed finished second, tying his career-best finish of second in last year’s race at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds in Illinois. It was also his best career finish on pavement. Creed also led 12 laps, and has led both races this season.
- Harrison Burton finished third in his first race of the season. He has finished in the top five in each of his three career ARCA races, spread out over three seasons. Burton made up a race-high 22 positions, after starting 25th of 26 cars.
- Daytona race winner Michael Self finished fourth. He has finished in the top five in seven of his 11 career ARCA races.
- Polesitter Chandler Smith rounded out the top five in his first career ARCA race.
- Tyler Dippel finished sixth in the highest-finishing Ford.
- Bret Holmes finished 10th in the highest-finishing Chevrolet.
- Eric Caudell finished 20th in the highest-finishing Dodge.
- Natalie Decker finished 11th, the last driver to finish all 200 laps. Ryan Repko was 12th, the first driver to finish a lap down.
- A season-high 20 cars finished the race.
- A total of 10 drivers improved on their starting position in the race.
- The next race will be Sunday, April 22, with the Salem ARCA 200 at Salem Speedway in Indiana.
