Notes of Interest
- Six of the drivers with the most top races in the 24 Hours of Le Mans are from France: Pescarolo, Wollek, Migault, Ballot-Lena, Collard and Yver.
- In addition to his four overall victories in 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1984, Pescarolo added a pair of class victories in 1976 (GTP) and 1992 (C3). His 1992 class win came with Wollek, the driver with the second most races on the list.
- Wollek holds the record for most races contested without an overall victory. He earned four class wins, however: 1977 (GT); 1992 (C3); 1995 (WSC); and 1996 (GT1). His final two class victories resulted in second place overall. All four class wins were with Porsche.
- Terada is the only driver not from Europe, and is second in most races without an overall victory with 29. The Japanese driver, however, did earn four class victories: 1983 (C Jr.), 1988 (GTP), 1990 (GTP) and 1996 (LMP2), all driving Mazdas for Mazdaspeed.
- Migault holds the record for most races without a class victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He did earn three podium finishes overall (second in 1976 and third in 1974 and 1981), and earned six class podiums in his 25 races.
- Ballot-Lena earned seven class victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans but never finished better than third overall. He was third overall and first in class in the 1977 race, driving with Peter Gregg in a Porsche 935 in the Gr. 5 category.
- Yver earned best class finishes of second (once) and third (twice) in his 22 races in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
