By The Numbers
1 – Daniel Abt earned his first career Formula E victory
Saturday at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the final driver to win a race of
those that have competed in every Formula E race to date.
3 – A total of three World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car
Series races have been rained out this season, out of the scheduled eight. The
next race is scheduled for Friday at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.
The Golden State is scheduled to host each of the series’ next seven races.
4 – Four drivers have won from the pole position in a
Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at ISW Raceway, formerly known as Phoenix
International Raceway.
6 – Sebastien Loeb leads all drivers in World Rally
Championship wins in Rally Mexico with six.
8 – Team Penske has eight IndyCar victories in the Grand
Prix of St. Petersburg, which is again the season-opener for the IndyCar Series
this weekend in Florida.
10 – Ten drivers have now won at least one Formula E race:
Sebastien Buemi, Lucas di Grassi, Sam Bird, Nicolas Prost, Felix Rosenqvist,
Jerome D’Ambrosio, Nelson Piquet Jr., Jean-Eric Vergne, Antonio Felix da Costa
and Daniel Abt.
11 – Number of IndyCar races contested by Janet Guthrie –
the first female driver to compete in the Indianapolis 500. Guthrie celebrates
her birthday Wednesday, March 7.
14 – This weekend’s Rally Mexico will be the 14th to be part
of the World Rally Championship and third of the 2018 WRC season.
15 – This weekend’s Grand Prix of St. Petersburg marks the 15th
time the race has been held for IndyCar racing. Paul Tracy won the 2003 race as
part of the Champ Car World Series, while Dan Wheldon won the race in 2005 as
part of the IRL IndyCar Series.
21 – Defending Grand Prix of St. Petersburg race winner
Sebastien Bourdais won the race from the 21st starting position last year, the
only driver to win the race after starting outside the top nine.
24 – This weekend's first World of Outlaws race at Thunderbowl
Raceway will be the 24th for the series on the one-third mile clay oval.
44 – This weekend’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race,
the Ticket Guardian 500, will be the 44th Cup race to be held at ISW Raceway.
100 – NASCAR victories for Kevin Harvick, who won his second
consecutive Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race last weekend at Las Vegas
Motor Speedway in Nevada. Harvick leads all drivers in victories at ISW
Raceway, host of this weekend’s race.
151 – This will be first time since the 2009 Grand Prix of
St. Petersburg that Helio Castroneves is not competing in an IndyCar Series
race. Castroneves has competed in each of the last 151 races and 263 of the
last 265, missing only the 2009 St. Petersburg race (personal reasons) and 2008
Long Beach Grand Prix (which was run with Champ Car World Series cars the day
after the IndyCar Series race in Motegi, Japan).
322 – This weekend’s Grand Prix of St. Petersburg marks the
322nd race since the IndyCar Series was formed in 1996, as the Indy Racing
League.
395 – Kevin Harvick has led 395 laps in the past two Monster
Energy NASCAR Cup Series races – at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor
Speedway.
420 – Number of World Rally Championship stage victories for
two-time WRC champion Walter Rohrl, who celebrates his 71st birthday Wednesday,
March 7.
