the race in his 38th start, establishing a record for most races before first
career victory.
- Abt’s previous best finish was second twice – in the
2015-16 season races at Berlin and London Race #2.
- Abt started the race sixth. Abt also started sixth in his
runner-up finish two seasons ago at Berlin.
- Abt moved to sixth in the points standings, up four positions
from 10th. His best finish in the points standings was seventh during the
2015-16 season.
- Abt is the third driver in as many races to win the Mexico
ePrix. Previous winners were Jerome D’Ambrosio and Lucas di Grassi.
- Abt is the first German driver to win in Formula E and
10th driver to win in the series’ history. A total of five drivers from Germany
have competed in Formula E; a total of four competed in Saturday’s race (Andre
Lotterer, Maro Engel and Nick Heidfeld). Rene Rast is the fifth driver.
- The victory for ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport was the first
for the team this season and seventh overall. The team’s previous six victories
came with di Grassi. The team has now won races in each of the four Formula E
seasons.
- Oliver Turvey earned his first career podium finish with a
second-place result. His previous best finish was sixth, on three different
occasions.
- Sebastien Buemi scored his record-extending 20th career
podium finish by finishing third.
- Battery problems forced Felix Rosenqvist to retire after
completing 34 laps. It marked only the second career retirement for
Rosenqvist, second in points, in 17 races.
- The top seven finishers represented seven different countries.
Switzerland, Brazil and the United Kingdom each had finishes in the top 10.
- A total of 20 drivers have scored points this season. Lucas

home three points after finishing ninth. Di Grassi, the defending race winner,
also set the race’s fastest lap.
