Notes of Interest
- Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt were the first to complete 5,000 kilometers in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, when they took their Ford GT40 to victory in the 1967 race. Their 5,232.53 kilometers is seventh all-time for race winners, just .63 kilometers behind the winners of the 2016 race, nearly 50 years later.
- Mike Rockenfeller, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas completed the most distance, at 5,410.71 kilometers in 2010, in their Audi R15 TDI plus.
- The most recent race which featured drivers completing 5,000 kilometers or more was in the 2017 race, with Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and Earl Bamber barely completing that distance, at 5,001.83 kilometers.

- The 2013 race, marred by the death of Allan Simonsen, was the last race which did not complete at least 5,000 kilometers. Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish and Loic Duval completed 4,742.89 kilometers in their Audi R18 e-tron Quattro.
