Notes of Interest – Race Recap (Winter Dirt Games, Night 1)
- This is Chase Stockon’s 11th career USAC National Sprint Car Series victory and his first of the 2018 season and first at Bubba Raceway Park.
- Stockon has now won three of the last five USAC National Sprint Car Series features, with wins last season at Arizona Speedway and Perris Auto Speedway in California during the final five-race swing.
- Kevin Thomas Jr., who had won the season finale last year at Perris, finished second in his debut with Hoffman Auto Racing, while defending series champion Chris Windom finished third. Thomas and Windom are tied with 18 feature victories in their careers, good enough for 27th all-time and one behind Brady Bacon, who finished 13th. (List of Top 30 Series Winners All-Time)
- Robert Ballou, who finished fifth, remains one victory away from sole possession of 13th all-time in career feature wins. He is tied with Levi Jones and J.J. Yeley with 28.
- Each of the top 20 fastest qualifiers advanced to the feature. The only drivers that did not qualify inside the top 20 that did advance to the feature were C.J. Leary (finished 15th in feature) and Jarrett Andretti (17th in feature).
