Donny Schatz became the fourth driver in as many races this
season to win an A-Main, besting Brad Sweet by 1.079 seconds on the half-mile
oval. The race took 15 minutes and 1.218 seconds.

Notes of Interest – Race Recap (DIRTcar Nationals, Night 1)
- This was Donny Schatz’s 17th career All-Star Circuit of
Champions A-Main Feature victory and first of the season. Schatz is now tied
for 30th all-time in A-Main Feature victories with Sheldon Haudenschild, Steve
Smith, Stevie Smith and Lee Osborne.
- This is the third straight season in which Schatz has won
a race in the series, and ninth season overall, dating back to 2006.
- Schatz came from the 12th position, the second time a race
winner has come from 12th or worse on the season. Schatz is also the second
driver this season to win after improving the most positions in the A-Main
Feature (Chad Kemenah advanced 16 positions in the first race of the season).
- Chad Kemenah led one lap. He is the only driver this
season to lead more than one A-Main Feature race.
- Thirteen different drivers made their first All-Star
Circuit of Champions A-Main Feature of the season on Wednesday: Donny Schatz, Brad
Sweet, David Gravel, Jason Johnson, Brent Marks, Kyle Larson, Brian Brown, Shane
Stewart, Kraig Kinser, Daryn Pittman, Joey Saldana, Kasey Kahne and Cory
