Event statistics following the season-opening race of the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race, the Nextera Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Despite running low on fuel, Austin Hill picked up his first career series victory in a race that went into two overtime periods. Hill – who led a race-high 39 laps – held off Grant Enfinger by about three tenths of a second. Ross Chastain finished third, with Spencer Boyd fourth and Matt Crafton fifth. Only nine trucks finished the race, the fewest in a race in series history.

Pat Flaherty Career Statistics (January 6, 2019)

George Francis “Pat” Flaherty, the 1956 Indianapolis 500 winner, was born on this day in 1926 in Glendale, California. Flaherty made only 18 IndyCar starts in his career, winning three races. His 1956 Indy 500 win was the first IndyCar race to be sanctioned by USAC, and he backed that victory up the following race at The Milwaukee Mile.

Gordon earned class victories in America’s twice-around-the-clock Rolex 24 At Daytona; bested open-wheel fields in the mid and late 1990s (and came within a lap of winning the Indianapolis 500); triumphed during a long stock car career (where he raced and co-owned a team); and still shines in a series he founded (super trucks). Needless to say, Gordon has competed in a number of different racing disciplines and been successful in all of them.

Event Recap: 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Statistics from Las Vegas (September 16, 2018)

Event statistics following the 27th race of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season, the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. The race also marked the opening round of the 10-race playoffs.

Brad Keselowski won his third consecutive race, the first time in his career he’s won three straight Cup Series races, besting Kyle Larson by 1.276 seconds as the top seven finishers were all playoff contenders. For Keselowski, two of his victories during the three-race winning streak came from the 13th starting position. Martin Truex Jr. was third, Joey Logano fourth, Ryan Blaney fifth, Aric Almirola sixth and Kyle Busch. Kevin Harvick, who entered the race second in the standings, fell to fourth in the standings after an accident that also involved polesitter and fellow Chase contender Erik Jones.

Ryan Hunter-Reay finished right where he started, taking his second victory of the season after earning his first pole position in more than four seasons. With the exception of pit stops, Hunter-Reay led the entire way and was rarely challenged, defeating Scott Dixon by 2.7573 seconds. Dixon, meanwhile, earned his fifth championship, which is now second only to seven-time titlist A.J. Foyt. Indianapolis 500 winner Will Power finished third, with teammate Simon Pagenaud taking fourth and Marco Andretti landing fifth.

Lewis Hamilton won for the 44th time from the pole position and 69th all-time, holding off Max Verstappen at the start and during a midrace challenge to further his points advantage with six races remaining. Verstappen claimed second, while Hamilton’s closest competitor in the points, fellow four-time F1 titlist Sebastian Vettel, rounded out the podium.

Event statistics following the 26th race of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season, the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. Brad Keselowski collected his second consecutive victory and first at IMS, using fuel strategy to catapult toward the front late in the event. Erik Jones finished second, with Hamlin third, Kevin Harvick fourth and Clint Bowyer fifth.
