Lewis Hamilton passed polesitter Kimi Raikkonen on Lap 45 of 53 and pulled away for his fifth career victory in the Italian Grand Prix and first from a position other than the pole. Raikkonen, meanwhile, settled for second, his 100th career podium, while Valtteri Bottas – fourth at the checkered flag – was scored third, after Max Verstappen was given a five-second penalty following contact with Bottas late in the race.

- This marked the 88th Italian Grand Prix and 69th as part of the Formula 1 calendar. This marked the 68th Italian Grand Prix at Autodromo Nazionale Monza and 83rd overall.
- This is Lewis Hamilton’s 68th Formula 1 victory and his series-leading sixth of the season. It is his fifth win in the Italian Grand Prix and second in succession (2017). He also won the race in 2012, 2014 and 2015. He remains second all-time in F1 World Championship grand prix victories.
- Hamilton has also won the Azerbaijan, Spanish, French, German and Hungarian Grand Prix this season. He is one of four drivers with victories in 2018. Sebastian Vettel has five, while Daniel Ricciardo has two wins and Max Verstappen has one.
